John Q. Gale

Attorney Gale was born in Hartford in 1951. He was the first generation son of an Italian immigrant whose family name changed from Gallucci to Gale before he was born.

He attended Hartford Public School and attended law school at the University of Connecticut School of Law after completing his undergraduate degree at the University of Pennsylvania.

His home is in Hartford, situated in the metropolitan area. John is visible in politics, a supporter of arts, a neighborhood advocate, and a community leader. He is occasionally found playing bluegrass mandolin at a local fiddle festival.

Attorney Gale has been the Chair of the Bar Association’s Professional Discipline Committee for many years after founding the Professional Discipline Digest – a quarterly summary of all the ethical problems related to lawyers in Connecticut.

Attorney Gale is an expert in attorney misconduct matters.

Jambalaya On The River, Hartford, CT
Founded, with partners, in 1992. Produced riverboat entertainment cruises sailing from Hartford. Self-financed. Joint Venture with Deep River Navigation Company from 1995 – 1999. Cruises with live music and Cajun cuisine ran from Memorial Day to Columbus Day. No cruises since 2000, except for a revival cruise in the summer of 2012 as a joint venture with Black Eyed Sally’s Restaurant in Hartford.

The Alley, Hartford, CT
Founder and one of three member-managers of company comprised of 45 West Enders, which purchased its local duckpin bowling alley in 2000. Self-financed. Business was renovated with loan from Hartford Economic Development Corporation and sold in 2006.

Mo’s Midtown, Hartford, CT
Founded with two partners a breakfast/lunch diner in Hartford’s West End in 1987, financing from CBT. Business sold in 1989. Diner continues to win awards with menu and recipes we provided.

Derek G. Poirier

Attorney Poirier was born in 1983 and raised in New Hartford, CT. He is the first generation son of a French Canadian immigrant. He attended New Hartford Public Schools during his elementary years and then attended St. Paul Catholic High School. 

He received his undergrad degree from St. Michael’s College in Vermont and then went on to attend law school in Rhode Island at Roger Williams University School of Law. He presently lives in West Hartford, CT.
